Sol Selectas welcomes the trio ARKADYAN to the label, with their new single “Tulila”, featuring 2 remixes by Manoo, and Safar (FR).
 
While on tour in Morocco, Arkadyan was inspired by the local culture and musical talents. They met and recorded local artist Radouan Naim, who sung the lyrics to Tulila, and also played the classic guembri instrument. This became the foundation for the song “Tulila” which is a song typically sung by children while playing. It loosely translates to "maybe not, maybe yes... Tur kulila, Tulila " in the ancient Berber language. We hear the ying and yang, the perfect balance, between the playfulness of the lyrics, and the deep afro rhythms, percussion, and 3 stringed guembri.
 
On the remixes we are honored to welcome French Soulful House legend Manoo, who has been a staple in the Deep House scene for over 25 years. Manoo has released countless productions on too many famous labels to even mention. His remix is pure Afro groove, with no breakdowns at all, just layers upon layers of incredible percussion, that endlessly builds the crowd into an absolute frenzy.
 
The 2nd remix is by Safar (FR) and follows his amazing song “Leyam” from our Summer Sol VII compilation. He adds his own tribal groove to the original, and expertly chops up the vocals creating beautiful tension and release on the breakdowns.
 
The artwork by Helia Jamali depicts the golden spiral of life & the harmonic dance of the universe.
